Life long Daytonian, graduated from Chaminade-Julienne High School and the University of Dayton. While at UD began working with people with disabilities at the Dayton Children's Psychiatric Hospital and St. Josephs Treatment Center in Dayton. After Graduation, worked at the Montgomery County Community Action Agency. Became a Case Manager for the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 1985. In 1987 was hired by the Resident Home Association as a Program Manager. In 1997 became the Assistant Director of RHA then became the Executive Director in January, 2009.

Pete is married to Polly (Bevis) Roll and they celebrated their 34th anniversary in the spring of 2017. They live in Kettering and have 3-adult children living in Dayton, Nashville and Chicago.
